Kidney cancer is often diagnosed late because symptoms can be vague or misunderstood. Kidney cancer is therefore frequently found at an advanced stage. However, early diagnosis significantly improves treatment options and outcomes.

That’s why Kidney Cancer UK is raising awareness of some of the main things to look out for which could be symptoms of kidney cancer, to help improve earlier diagnosis. Awareness of these symptoms can lead to earlier GP visits and faster referrals.

What are the symptoms?

You should contact your GP if you or a family member has:

• Blood in your urine

• Persistent back or side pain

• Unexplained weight loss

• Fatigue

• Constant night sweats
