Join the Community Games in north east London

Looking to feel healthier, meet new people, or just try something new? The Community Games are coming to north east London, and you’re invited!

These free, fun and friendly events are open to people living with and beyond cancer – and their families and friends - of all ages and abilities.

There is a special welcome for those who might feel nervous about getting active. Whether you're taking your first steps towards better health or simply want to connect with your local community, the Games offer a safe, supportive space to move more and feel good.

At the Community Games, you can:

  • Try out new physical activities in a relaxed, no-pressure setting
  • Meet local health and activity providers
  • Access free health checks and wellbeing advice
  • Reduce isolation and feel part of something positive
You don’t need to be “sporty” to come along — just curious!

“We know that starting something new can be daunting — especially if you’ve been out of the loop with exercise or aren’t sure what’s available locally,” says Sarita Yaganti, Programme Lead for Personalised Cancer Care at North East London Cancer Alliance.

“Community Games are all about removing those barriers. There’s no judgment, just opportunities to try things out, meet friendly faces, and take positive steps towards a healthier life.

“Whether it's a short walk, a gentle stretch, a health MOT, or a chat over tea, there's something for everyone.”

The Community Games are here to support anyone living with or beyond cancer - and their family and friends. The first event takes place at Mile End Leisure Centre at 11am on 8 June 2025.
