Healthy Lungs, Healthy Lives
The Healthy Lungs event at Goodman’s Fields Health Centre was a brilliant success. It was well-organised, well-attended, and held in a welcoming, vibrant community space.
Organised in partnership with local GPs, public health teams, and the North East London Cancer Alliance, the event brought together residents, health professionals, and specialist services to raise awareness of lung health and early cancer detection.
Throughout the day, the Cancer Alliance team had the opportunity to speak with a wide range of local residents and healthcare professionals. It was a valuable moment to highlight the Lung Health Check - part of the Lung Cancer Screening Programme - and share updates on other key cancer services available across North East London.
These conversations reflected a shared commitment to proactive, community-based care, making it easier for people to access support and take steps toward better lung health.
A highlight of the day was connecting with Dr Toby and the inspiring team at Goodman’s Fields Health Centre, whose energy and dedication to addressing health inequalities left a lasting impression. Their passion for building meaningful, community-led healthcare solutions mirrors the values and mission of the Cancer Alliance.
Events like this demonstrate the power of partnership and place-based working in reaching local communities, raising awareness, and promoting earlier intervention for better outcomes.
We’re proud to work alongside local teams who are shaping care that begins where people are, in their neighbourhoods, their communities, and their everyday lives.
