Ellen Quinney and Ben Lamb feature in British Journal of Hospital Medicine

Following fantastic work on improving Multidisciplinary Team Meetings by Ellen Quinney from North East London Cancer Alliance, and Ben Lamb from Barts Health NHS Trust, they have recently had an article published in the British Journal of Hospital Medicine.

Multidisciplinary Team Meetings are where a group of health and care staff who are members of different organisations and professions (e.g. GPs, clinicians, nurses) come together to make decisions regarding the treatment of individual cancer patients.

Improvements to these meetings across north east London, led by Ben and Ellen, are helping cancer patients in north east London to receive faster, better care.

Along with Tayana Soukup, a Chartered Psychologist and Behavioural Scientist, and Louisa Hardman, a respected facilitator, coach and consultant, they discuss the importance of effective leadership and chairing within MDT meetings in this brilliant article.

These are vital to ensuring patients receive the best possible care at the right time.
