National Cancer Patient Experience Survey Results

The NHS has published the results of the 2022 Cancer Patient Experience Survey. Patient experience of care is incredibly important to us and it’s a testament to the hard-working NHS staff that cancer patients have given a rating of 8.88 out of 10 for overall experience.

Visit the Cancer Patient Experience Survey website to see the full suite of national, ICB, Cancer Alliance, and NHS Trust results. Overall, 61,268 patients responded to the survey.

A national report and accompanying easy read report set out the headline findings.

A new interactive dashboard has also been launched for this year. The dashboard allows you to explore the survey results in more detail and provides improved functionality and a better user experience.

As a cancer alliances, we really value this survey and we will be analysing it carefully to see where we’re doing well and where we can improve further. We will provide updates over the coming weeks as to our plans for using these results to make a positive impact for local residents.

The NHS Cancer Programme supports us in doing this. For example, the Cancer Improvement Collaborative, led by the NHS Cancer Programme, uses results from the Cancer Patient Experience Survey and other insight and feedback, and works in partnership with lived experience partners to develop meaningful changes which mean the most to those who use our services.
