What is a Hysteroscopy?

  • Resource type: Patients and residents

This animated video explains a test called a Hysteroscopy.

A hysteroscopy is a test where a doctor uses a thin tube with a light and camera (called a hysteroscope) to look inside the womb. It helps find the cause of problems like unusual bleeding, fibroids, polyps, or difficulty getting pregnant. The doctor can also use it to take a small tissue sample (biopsy) or remove small growths.
