World cancer day

Saturday 4 February is World Cancer Day. This year’s theme is ‘Close the Care Gap’, part of a three-year campaign to reduce inequalities, something close to our hearts in north east London. What can you do to help? Here are a few ideas:

Share our animated videos to raise awareness of the importance of cancer screening programmes which save lives, available in 15 different languages:

Breast screening

Bowel screening

Cervical screening

Watch our preventing cancer video with tips on healthy living and the importance of getting signs and symptoms checked.

Read the latest news from the North East London Cancer Alliance to find out what we are doing to reduce inequalities and improve cancer services for all our residents.

Join us at our awareness events. The national cancer team has organised a double-decker bus tour of the country and it will be visiting Stratford Town Centre (likely to be Meridian Square) on Friday 10 February.

We will also have an information stall at Royal London Hospital on Tuesday 7 February and at the East London Mosque on Friday 10 February.
