Level 2 Psychological support training
The training will be facilitated by psychological specialists working in cancer and palliative care across NEL. It is an interactive event with a mixture of taught components and group discussion. The training is only available to the below NHS employees working in North East London:
Adult Cancer CNS’s who are a core member of the Cancer MDT |
Adult Specialist Palliative Care CNS’s, Social Workers, AHPs and End of Life Care Facilitators
Qualified Cancer AHPs working predominantly with people affected by Cancer
Research nurses working on cancer trials
Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Managers

Psychological support skills to enhance cancer care - Macmillan
Explores why it is important to consider the psychological factors in cancer. Considers how they affect uptake of screening and investigations, decision making, adherence to treatment and trust and relationships with a
healthcare team.

Holistic Needs Assessment (HNA)
Clinical discussion groups
Clinical discussion groups are a safe space for cancer palliative care and specialist nurses to come together and enhance their psychological skills and also to think about their wellbeing.
