Celebrating the dedicated care of cancer nurses

26 April is National Cancer CNS Day where we celebrate the incredible work of our cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs).

Our cancer nurses make a big difference to patients’ lives across north east London. Today we shine a light on how vital they are and thank them for their dedication and excellent care.

We’re proud of our cancer CNSs who provide vital care and support to cancer patients. They go above and beyond to deliver specialist care every day.

Please watch and share our film as we recognise and say thank you to them: https://youtu.be/zUKugBe68og

Our cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists play a crucial role in supporting patients across all stages of their treatment. They stand alongside patients from diagnosis, help them understand their treatment options and provide vital medical care.

We want to say thank you to them on this special day and recognise the commitment and specialism they bring to our team.

There’s support and supervision available to help cancer CNSs develop confidence and expertise in their role. There are networks of peers to support new CNSs and they will work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

It’s a specialist role that also offers nurses a good work-life balance.
